Fabulous & SO warm!Review by patti
Love this jacket! REALLY warm and weighs practically nothing. I ordered 2 because I wasn't sure of the size and couldn't believe they were both in the small feather light box they came in. After I took it out of the bag inside the down pretty much exploded and kept growing - SO puffy! I would have preferred if it were shorter (I'm a woman and kept the small) and I'm not crazy about the lycra around the bottom but otherwise love it! I love this company and am now thinking about the vest too.

held up well over the last 15 yearsReview by stands the test of time
I purchased my jacket about 15 years ago when Epic fabric was an option. Moisture still beads up nicely. I have used my jacket more than 100 times and it has been stuffed in my pack as many times. No wear and tear noted. I have washed it only twice as I believe washing is what takes a toll and not not wearing. I use it as a belay jacket ice climbing and carry it on summer alpine adventures as insurance. It is light and warm with no extra weight from pocket zippers! The trend today is for down garments with narrow baffles but to my way of thinking narrow baffles in a sewn-thru garment equals more cold spots. I highly recommend this jacket for anyone who wants to go light in temps below 32 degrees F. If you plan to deal with rain bring a synthetic jacket. I would like to see the inside pocket big enough for a cell phone. The fit is snug so if you are on the high side of medium go with a large. (Posted on 12/2/2017)
Toasty warm & cozyReview by Leafwise
Took this on a 10 day wilderness trip 30 degrees frosty at night . I would be instantly warmed when I put this on and never too hot. I tied it round my sleeping bag for extra warmth.. I love it . I'm going to add a cuff bottom to keep it from hiking up a bit.
I'm a small woman and the XS MENS is perfect! Well done! (Posted on 6/13/2017)
The best jacket I have ever ownedReview by EvilLost
Incredibly light, it feels like I'm wearing a cloud.....but it keeps me perfectly toasty even in temperatures at or below 0C. I can wear an additional sweater under it easily if needed.

Clam-shell pockets are very comfortable and inviting.

The jacket is very light for most backpacking purposes, and the weight is negligible for wearing around the city.

CONS:
The zipper is "2way" (you can unzip the bottom zipper by pulling it upwards). I'm not sure if this is a desired feature for some or not, but I have never found a use for this and it almost always results in the lower zipper coming up just a tiny bit to prevent the two halves from separating.

This is not a big deal as it is very easy to push it back down, but it happens quite often. (Posted on 1/13/2017)
HELIOSReview by Felix
Just received my jacket,,its looks light in warmth,,don't let that fool you,,its very warm,,well constructed,,the cuffs, waist are very snug,,collar is also tight around your neck,,no drafts here.Warm & Puffy,,Feathered Friends you did awesome with this jacket,,gonna test it tonight.Could use a larger inside pocket,,made in Canada,,which is good,,since our northern neighbors know a little something about cold weather.A must have for your winter coat arsenal. Warm!Review by Toasty McToasterson
I've had one of these for a few years now. I originally bought it as an "oh s#*1!" jacket for back-country ski tours. It is really warm, and I feel confident that if something happened where I was stuck overnight in the back country, I could put this on and be nice and cozy. Luckily, I've never had to use it in those circumstances.

Good points: Jacket is well-made and has a great weight-to-warmth ration. If my wife is cold in the house, I'll give her this jacket to wear, and it puts her to sleep. ;)

Some things to consider: I've found that a lighter down jacket works better for me on day tours. I still take this out on a winter overnight. In retrospect, I would buy the hooded jacket, as the additional warmth is considerable for a negligible increase in weight/volume.

So This Is How The Birds Do It!Review by John DeLong
The Feathered Friends website describes the Helios as warm & puffy. Let me tell you, it ain't no lie! I decided to give the Helios a try and I'm not disappointed. Previously, I had purchased Mountain Hardware down jackets, but no more. The Chinese just don't seem to understand the function of a zipper. One of the main reasons I purchased the Helios is because its made in Canada. I have to say the Canadians know how to make a down jacket, but they can keep their tar sands oil.I'm old enough (70) to remember what winters here in Chicago were like back in the 1940's, 50's, and 60's. I wish I had the Helios back in those days. But that was yesterday. And like the song says, yesterday is gone. The Helios is worth every penny! Its a good looking jacket and keeps me warm. And the zipper actually works. Buy one! You'll be happy as a lark. Uh! I mean a goose. (Posted on 2/5/2014)
