The widest of our 0 degree bags, the Ibis provides room in the shoulders while maintaining the efficient cut necessary to reduce extra space and keep heat loss to a minimum. Like the Snowbunting, the Ibis is ideal for cold ascents in the Cascades, Nepal treks, and for Mount Rainier. The Ibis also excels when you are pushing the comfort rating of bag and need space to wear a down jacket while you sleep.

When these are gone, they're gone! The Ibis EX has been updated as the Ibis ES Sleeping Bag with new fabrics and design.

EX: Winter & Expedition. Pertex® Shield® fabric. 15 denier with 40 denier rip-stop reinforcement. Water-resistant/ breathable coating.

" If you are looking for an insanely warm, high quality winter sleeping bag with all the bells and whistles, but one that is still extremely lightweight (relative to its warmth), then the answer is ABSOLUTELY YES! "

Zipper

Great bag, but why not use a larger more easily zippable zipper. Make it a big bad *** with huge handle and plenty of big teeth!!! Do it, make it easy on us campers.

Peace of Mind

I just bought the bag and went out on a quick overnight trip out to the Utah Desert in March. Slept in a Hilleberg Unna tent with another person, only using a Smartwool base layer, the tent is small for 2 people so it is a little cozy and you do pull some heat off the other person. Temperatures were down to 21f with light snow. I didn't really have the bag down to it's 0 rating, and was in a small tent with someone else, so I can't really say how well it works as a stand alone piece of gear. However I slept plenty warm and impressed with the bag. The bag did seem to have a cold spot near the knee area at the zipper, again need to test the bag more, and it was the first use. This is my 4th Feathered Friend sleeping bag, and love the quality and peace of mind knowing I'll be warm in cold conditions. Fyi I'm 6'1 210 lbs, 46in chest, bought the long and had plenty of room. As a side note, I don't like the new 2 color scheme's of the bags, I got one of the last Ibis bags in solid black. Loved the solid colors of black and lava red, If I had the money I'd buy a bunch of the last remaining stock in the old colors!!

Ticks all my boxes

The size is right, the fit is right, the weight is right, the warmth is right, the fabric it right, the colour is right. I’m 6’ 5” 290 lb so it’s hard to tick all those boxes. Thanks

EXCELLENT WINTER BAG

I'm 6'3" 245lbs. with broad shoulders and the 6'6" long Ibis fits me perfectly with foot room to spare. (Not so tight as to be claustrophobic or uncomfortable and just enough room for layering if trying to extend the temperature range of the bag) Wearing thin 1/4 socks, boxer briefs and a long sleeve capilene midweight hiking shirt in a 4-season tent with vent open at 30 degrees, I had this bag partially unzipped (8-12 inches) laying on my pillow and never had my head inside the hood at all and was toasty warm all night. At times I had to let some heat out. The draft collar is absolute perfection so without even closing it around your neck it lays perfectly front and back and seals in your warmth. Having owned both WM and FF products I'm going to lay out the differences for you here to help you decide. They are both good bags but if you're reading this I want you to understand why the FF is both a better product and a much better value. I previously owned and used extensively a WM Kodiak GWS for several years. 1. Unless you're a giant the WM Kodiak is entirely too big to effectively heat the space up. (Yes, they do make other size bags but in this temperature range they're almost all smaller and less comfortable than the Ibis for bigger people) 2. WM recently switched from GWS to Gore Infinium and that fabric is nowhere near as solid/waterproof as the FF Pertex Endurance fabric and the WM microfiber isn't even the same league and is totally unacceptable for a winter bag in my opinion. I conducted extensive online research on all three fabrics and even purchased a brand new WM Kodiak at the same time as the Ibis to compare them side by side and ended up returning the WM even though I bought the WM for 20% off. (Ridiculously, still more expensive than the Ibis!) When it's below freezing the last thing I want to be worried about is water from any source soaking through my sleeping bag. 3. The snap on the FF is so much nicer than the velcro on the WM. Anyone that's every been awakened in the middle of the night by velcro scratching their face understands what I'm saying. 4. The Ibis is $236 less expensive than the Kodiak. Don't make the mistake of thinking that FF is a lesser quality product due to the lower price. WM is just more expensive because of the dealer network and their markup, plain and simple. Price aside, FF makes a nicer, better featured, and safer in extreme conditions product than WM. I hope this helps and happy trails!

High Quality

Very warm bag. Will definitely live up to its temp rating. Build quality and attention to detail is top notch. The bag regains loft quickly once you lay it out. I love that they use snap closures instead of velcro to close the collar.
