The fixed hood can fit comfortably beneath a helmet and the low-profile cut allows the Daybreak Hoody to be worn as an insulating midlayer under your shell. With just the right amount of premium 900 fill power down, the Daybreak Hoody is the perfect piece for cool evenings around camp or summer forays to the snowline. The ability to transition from a lightweight shell in mild weather to an incredibly efficient insulation layer when the temperatures dip, creates a highly versatile down garment. Lycra binding around the hood and cuffs combine with the elastic draw at the hem to seal in the heat. The reverse coil main zipper is backed by a micro-fleece lined guard to block the wind and protect your chin.

Our decision to make our lightweight garments abroad was not taken lightly at all, since the concern for quality is paramount in our production. To meet these standards, lightweight garments, such as the Daybreak series, are made with the same supply of 900+ goose down and premium fabrics that we use in Seattle. I was planning on purchasing this jacket to replace a much older Feathered Friends jacket that has reached the end of its life, but I noticed that they recently decided to move production offshore to China. Perhaps the best reason to buy FF bags and apparel instead of that of their often much cheaper competitors was the certainty that you would be receiving a quality product, "handmade in Seattle since 1972." If they're all the same imported jackets, likely manufactured in the same factory, I might as well buy one that is far cheaper. -
