  1. Really comfy, may run small

    by Alan M on Mar 14, 2013

First of all, this is a REALLY nice vest! Other vests seem mostly decorative. This is real warmth. My only comment is that you may need to take the sizing chart with a grain of salt. I have a smallish chest (right around 42") and a 36" waist, which puts me in the "large" size. But I have a long torso, and the large actually feels small to me, a little too tight and a little too short, while the XL feels wonderful, tight enough at the neck and armholes and the waist to keep in the warmth, but not so tight that it feels uncomfortable. When in doubt, try a couple different sizes.
  2. Excellent Vest

by BongBong Yap on Feb 13, 2013

I've had this vest for 5 years now, it's by far one of my most versatile garments. Winter layering, summer hiking, casual functions, city wear etc. I can't recommend this vest enough. Construction and material quality are top notch. For about 200$ you just can't go wrong.
  3. Great Puffy Vest

by Will on Jan 8, 2013

Had my Helios vest 10 years. It is the basic nylon taffeta version that FF used to do, bought cheap on sale. I agree with previous poster that the durability is fantastic. Decided to have it cleaned for the first time (just never got round to it before!) and it has come back with the same loft as when new. A classic puffy vest - haven't seen better.
  4. Incredible Durability

    by Rachel H on Dec 29, 2012

I've had my Helios vest over a decade now, with near constant wear during the winters.
The seams are still securely stitched, the batting is still in all the right places, and the fabric is still in one piece.
It was a lot of money when I first bought on my student income but it's more than paid for itself over the years.
