A step up from our quilted Helios Pants, the Volant offers the same functionality with added warmth in a baffled design. Perfect for winter climbing in South America or late season Denali, the Volant Pants can be worn under a shell or, through the use of the fully separating side zips, quickly thrown over the top for a boost of warmth when the temperature really dips. Paired with the Volant Jacket you have one of the most thermally efficient combinations for the least amount of weight. And while they’re often too warm to wear when you’re climbing, keeping your legs warm when you stop provides increased circulation and ensures that warm blood continues to flow to your extremities. The waterproof and breathable Pertex Shield shell blocks the elements while allowing moisture from inside to escape. As functional as the Volant Pants are in the field, they’re a downright luxury when it comes time to zip up the tent; they’ve been the envy of many climbing partners throughout the years.
