Kestrel Nano 30 Sleeping Bag

With its roomy cut through the shoulders, the Kestrel is the choice if you’re looking for a mummy shape to accommodate a stout build when the temperatures stay around freezing. While not as thermally efficient for smaller types, a wider bag can also be comforting for those who like more space or practice yoga in their sleep.

Nano: Schoeller® NanoSphere 20 denier water-resistant/ breathable fabric.

I like good gear and I make an effort to buy the best so I don't have to buy again. The Kestrel is the piece of my gear I brag about most. It is insanely warm, almost to a fault. I have wide shoulders so the dead space that can undermine the temp rating is not an issue for me. This bag is a furnace, and I think its temp rating is easily 10 degrees too low. This is my only complaint, though complaint isn't the appropriate description. There are times that I wished I had a zipper down to the toes as the bag is so warm. I'm 6ft and probably should have gone with the long as well, but decided on the regular. I'm particular about my gear and this bag is the best. A hummingbird would be too narrow for me. If you have wide shoulders, take pride in your gear, and are weight conscience this is the bag. (Posted on 7/16/2017)
Great bag!Review by Stinky
Bought this for SAR missions, and with just a t-shirt and socks I've stayed warm down to 25 degrees, but I add a liner for colder winter overnights. During warmer months I just leave it partially unzipped. Lightweight, compresses well, and lofts up quickly. Zipper is better than most. I'm 6'1" and 175, and the bag is cut to be very comfortable; feet don't feel constricted. Favorite feature: Made in Seattle (Posted on 8/30/2016)
