Rock and ice parka

I have not had the opportunity to actually use the parka yet as it is not yet winter but based on opening the box I am very impressed with the quality. It has heavier duty fabric than what I expected from reading all the reviews and talking with the sales rep. I live in Alaska and use my parkas extensively for all kinds of outdoor activities like hunting, trapping, expeditions, and riding snogos. I believe it will work well. I believe it will be the warmest parka I have used out of brands like Canada goose, triple fat goose, rei, cabelas, Eddie Bauer among other old brands. I think FF has made a very quality parka. I do wish they came with a fur ruff option but am adding one to mine which is not difficult to do on this parka. After several years of research I believe this is the warmest, heaviest duty down parka made in the USA. Great parka!!

Pride in American Craftsmanship Still Exists

The Rock And Ice Parka evidences a flawless design in combination with unparalleled workmanship. That the profit motive is decidedly secondary to the creation of a superior product is readily apparent. There are no "goofy" logos or an outrageous tripling in price so as to claim "designer status" exhibited here, only optimal and durable functionality.

Very Light and Warm

The parka was lighter than I expected, but also thicker and warmer than expected. It seems to me to be a solid value despite its substantial price. I've never seen a warmer or better made parka.

Outdoor adventurer and dog dad.

I agree w/other reviewers this is the warmest coat you can buy. It is easy to use, well constructed and has an adequate amount and size of pockets for gloves, etc. I have no regrets with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone who must be out in extreme cold. I would make one suggestion with regard to coat sleeves, employ the same heavier duty shell material used to reenforce the coat shoulders, as the ends of the sleeves tend to fray. They have required several repairs to stop down leaks. Alternately, consider marketing a shell for the coats as other mfg.'s offer for their parkas.
