outstanding down parka
I bought the Rock & Ice Down Parka for my upcoming Pik Lenin expedition, thus, haven't tested it yet. Nevertheless, a first check of the parka showed an exceptional quality and comfort, I am eager to test it on a 7000er. It is a pity that you guys don't sell your gear in Europe, cheers
Rock & Ice Parka
Exceptional quality. Great for mid winter in the Rocky mountain area at least. Have bought jackets from Feathered Freinds for decades. This is the first parka. The coldest I've been outside with these jackets has been -27 with about a 60mph wind and stayed warm as toast.
Hot oven
Well made and very warm. No issue handling minus 30 C. I had an older version I purchased about 15 years ago that was still running strong and I gifted it to a friend so it could give another ten years of warm pleasure.
Ultra worthy
I used this jacket for the Montane Yukon Arctic Ultra. I was outside in the harsh Yukon for over 80 hours. This jacket is bomb proof. It was the reason I would get out of my sleeping system. It helped rewarm after scary cold temps would ensue during short breaks. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to stay warm in the worlds harshest environments. One difficult thing is the main zipper. It seemed in -30 degrees to -40 degrees F the zipper was difficult to do. That might be the case for any jacket in that temp. In. Survival situation it’s pretty paramount that the jacket zips up quick and easy. It does take work to zip it up but I do know the zipper is not going to break. Overall this jacket is amazing.
