The Feathered Friends women’s bags share a few things in common: reduced girth at the shoulders, a wider cut through the chest and elbows and increased overall fill. The result is a bag designed from the ground up to fit the female form and address lower sleeping temperatures. Like the Widgeon, the Arctic Finch is a go-to bag for cold weather activities from winter mountaineering in the Cascades to Himalayan ascents and snow camping.

Love my new arctic finch sleeping bag! Very warm and cozy. Thank you feathered friends for the great customer service! My order came without a stuff sack, but as soon as they were told they had one in the mail. I have always slept cold and in negative temps snow camping I slept warm! No complaints here...
Just Buy It
Oh hey: have you been cold EVERY camping trip of your life? Have to plan your backpacking gear around the multiple coats needed to make sleeping tolerable? Just buy this sleeping bag already. Yes, it's spendy, yes, the exterior sounds like it's water resistant, but the benefits far outweigh that. Made in the USA, speedy delivery, and performance get this thing a 5-star rating from me. Kept me warm on the windiest 30-degree night I've ever spent outside, in just a basic pair of leggings and a lightweight puffer- can't wait for more off-season mountain adventures!
I needed two of the warmest sleeping bags possible to send asap over seas for my daughters at an outdoor school"everyone has been sold out, even over there where they are".Feathered Friends, helped me so much to get two made and sent to me in a very short time"..I really appreciate their personal help to me"under pressing circumstances...
I'm a very cold sleeper who was layering another top shelf brand name 15 degree quilt with a 20 degree down bag, inside a fleece liner, atop the highest R value pads on the market with a combined R value of 10,dressed in every piece of clothing and multiple layers of coats, and was still cold with lows in the mid 30s F. I bought the Arctic Finch hoping to fix this. Last weekend I got a chance to try it out. The temperature got down to 17 F and I was finally almost warm enough, with the exception of cold creeping into my back which body warmers helped mitigate. Being such a cold sleeper, this is pretty good results for me. I am 5'4" and bought the medium per the size chart, but wish I had gotten the small as it is too long--by about four to six inches which makes for inefficient heat trapping. Unfortunately, the return/exchange period is only 30 days and by the time order prep and shipping time is deducted from that, and I had a chance to get the bag out for the inaugural run, it was past the 30 day mark so I am stuck with it. The foot box allows the feet to fully extend without curling or cramping the toes. It's roomy enough to wear down booties inside, but not having booties I had to stuff a coat around my feet to keep the chill off. I agree with another reviewer who said that the cords and fasteners are fiddly and take some getting used to. The addition of a tab or other feature would help with locating the inner snap (the one behind the head), as it tends to disappear into the folds once the draft collar is snug. My constant rustling about in the bag trying to find it throughout the night (and eventually giving up) surely woke my hike mates sleeping in nearby tents. The cord lock on the hood is faulty and does not hold. It comes in right zip only, which is unfortunate because my liner comes in left zip only and my tent's offset zipper makes it difficult to climb into and out of the bag--even without using the liner. Overall, the bag is a good choice for extra-cold sleepers who need a bit more room to pull the knees up. And finally, women have a subzero option. But for the price, I would expect better sizing, both left and right zip options, and working cord locks.
