The Eider is the roomier version of the Widgeon, which was originally designed for the successful American K2 expedition in 1990. The Eider is the go-to bag for cold weather activities from mountaineering to snow camping, or for those who plan to wear down layers while sleeping to push the comfort rating of the bag. The Eider is 2-4 inches larger in circumference than the Widgeon, and is the winter equivalent of the best-selling Swift.

I have enough nights snow camping now at near or zero F temps in this eider ex to give a good impression. I’ve not gotten cold once. Usually start out too warm in fact. Sleeping only in heavy wool and a warm hat. I do tend to stuff my FF eos puffy in around my head area to help further seal heat. Snug as a bug in a rug. Only thing this bag lacks is side baffles. Does anyone really ever intentionally shift their down? Love the sleeping bag regardless.
Great sleeping bag
I tried out the sleeping bag at a temperature just below freezing. Roomy and warm. Lots of space at the foot to keep boot liners and other kit like socks warm over night. The sleeping bag was placed on top of a medium thickness sleeping pad and a closed cell foam pad to prevent contact with moisture from the ground.
I needed a true winter bag for here in Colorado. I own several FF bags in various weights and materials. I've never been disappointed. When you're in the backcountry you depend on your gear, especially in the winter. Great job feathered friends. C
Fantastic quality and great customer service during purchase process.
Great bag to sleep outside in Canadian winters. Stayed plenty warm tucked under a tarp. Love the zip and the hood holds my pillow in place while I roll around in the bag all night.
