Customer Reviews (1)

the ONLY down I need this yearReview by RyOutside
I'm doing a full review for an online magazine, but wanted to share something here, too...

First and foremost, I love that these jackets are made in the USA with traceable down - THANK YOU, Feathered Friends! By doing the responsible thing, yall help us make the responsible choice.

Is it warm & cozy? YES!
Over the past 2 months, I have worn this jacket on several outings in Colorado including an overnight bikepacking trip (temps in the low teens), snowy fat bike rides in the high country, and on some dawn patrols in sub-20 degree temps; to Alaska (hiking, site-seeking); Washington DC (commuting for work travel purposes during some surprisingly cold mornings/evenings); and exploring canyons and chilly desert country in Utah. On each and everyone one of those trips/outings, it proved itself!

Is it light? YES!!
This thing isn't just light, it's SUPER packable. I used a framepack and saddle pack for our bikepacking trip and it fit in both, with room to spare! I also fit it in a hip sack/fanny pack with several snacks and my cell phone.

What's the fit like? Pretty good...
I'm usually between a small and medium (5'3"-ish, 135lbs, athletic-ish build -while being honest that I'm a mom that can't always get out and be as active as I want ;)). I tried the small first, and it was pretty fitted in the chest, but the arms were a perfect length, just snug, like a down shirt. I could wear a thermal underneath, but not a thicker hooded shirt or thermal with low-profile down vest. In the medium, I have plenty while not being too big. I can wear a thermal and down vest or thermal with my ski bibs. The only downside is that there is more room in the chest, so I have a bit of a chest "peak"/"bubble", but it's not a deal-breaker, AT ALL. In fact, I like that I can have it half zipped and stuff my hat/gloves in there when I'm trying to dig through bags/gear.

Oh! I also really like the way the hood fits and all the adjustment points (hood and waist) - speaking of, in the SMALL, I couldn't utilize the adjustment points. It fit like a loose shirt, rather than a jacket. in the MEDIUM, I have full adjustability, which I really appreciate.

So in the end, there are a LOT more pros than cons for this one and it's the ONE down jacket I have used this year (vs. last year's mix of a low-profiles hoodless micro down, large puffy hooded down, etc. etc.) and I like it that way :)
