Penguin 20 YF Sleeping Bag

The inspiration for the Penguin series came from the desire to create a two person sleep system that was light and compact enough for extended backpacking trips yet roomy enough to keep both partners comfortable throughout the night. The Penguin 20 is our most popular variation and represents an exceptional balance of warmth and comfort for two while remaining light and compact enough for solo backcountry use. Two draft tubes line the zipper to prevent loss of heat when used alone or with a Groundsheet. Optional hoods are available for cold weather comfort; these can be attached to our Groundsheet or zipped onto the sleeping bag when used by one sleeper.

YF: YFuse. Pertex Quantum® 20 denier mini-ripstop fabric treated with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

Amazingly Comfortable bag.Review by Uhooru
This is a great sleeping bag for car camping, or if backpacking and carrying for 2 people. Its cozy, roomy, nice and warm and can be opened up so on warmer nights it is fine, also as a simple quilt. I haven't used it with the groundsheet. I think for back packing, especially if going out for long distance hiking it may be a bit heavy at 2 lbs 9 oz, though not bad for shorter trips, but its a big bag and even using a Sea to Summit 20L compression dry sack, I had to really compress it down to get it into the bottom of my pack which is about 40L and takes up a good 1/3 of the pack. But it still seems fine for overnighters or even 3 or 4 days.

The other nit is the zipper can stick quite a bit.

At the end of the day though this is the coziest, most comfortable sleeping bag you will roll up in. The other plus of its size is it works so well for tosser and turners and side sleepers as there is plenty of room inside the bag without the whole bag turning with you. Might get something that packs less weight and less space, but for most of my needs, this is a beautiful crafted sleeping bag. (Posted on 10/10/2018)
