Widgeon EX -10

The Widgeon was originally designed for the successful American 1990 K2 expedition as a standalone base camp bag and to be used in conjunction with down clothing at high camps. In the years since, improvements have increased the performance and reduced the weight, but the overall concept remains the same.

Hi FF, Just letting you know that I have been using your sleeping bags for over 25 years. I started out with a mid weight Gore Tex covered summer bag that still works great. About a decade ago I purchased this Widgeon -10 bag for an expedition on Cerro Aconcagua which turned out to be successful. The bag was warm and toasty, compressed down to a fraction of itself and when pulled out of the stuff sack, popped right back to full size in moments. The covering material sheds moisture very well. Tents are always full of moisture. My climbing partners' bags absorb that water but mine never does. This is a great bag. I have since used it on many winter camping trips. I just ordered my 3rd bag from you, an ultralight summer bag for bikepacking adventures. Feathered Friends products are top notch. I won't hesitate to recommend them to my friends. Note that I probably won't need another one. Ever.
  2. Feathered Friends Widgeon

The Widgeon is my go to back for lightweight trips on Denali, winter ice trips to BC and winter ascents on Rainier. It's incredibly warm for it's weight, fits my 6'2" frame perfectly in size long and offers just enough room to store boot liners, socks and gloves to dry overnight. With a warm water bottle, the Widgeon works at 17,000 feet on Denali in May. With the zipper open it works in the Anchorage airport too. The Widgeon is the best all around winter bag I have ever owned and compliments my Swallow perfectly for year round comfort.
