In 2023, Michael Telstad was a complete novice when it came to climbing in Alaska. After two seasons, he wouldn’t consider himself an expert in the Alaskan range, but he has successfully completed some climbs he’s quite proud of. Come hear stories from his ‘23 and ‘24 seasons, his new routes in the Kichatnas and Ruth Gorge, and the lessons he’s learned along the way. Michael will also be discussing his strategies for finding and choosing new routes in unfamiliar places.
