The Corsa Alpine is a new lightweight hybrid technical ice axe from Camp. This tool combines a technical chromoly steel head with a lightweight single-curve aluminum shaft. The pick is tapered to 3 mm for superior performance in ice and technical terrain. The end of the shaft has a plug to keep the snow and ice out when plunging, but does not have a traditional inset metal spike. The "grip" is machined into the shaft for added performance handling and provides a low profile and longer lasting durability when plunging then a traditional overlaid rubberized-style grip. This axe is well-suited to the needs of many advanced ski mountaineers and lightweight-oriented alpinists that often own a variety of different specific ice axes and tools so that they can always carry the most appropriate and functional tool for their particular mountain adventure of the day.
