Wonderful that available in “Full” size

Such a beautiful and luxurious comforter, but this was actually the bonus on top of being available in “Full” size, where the smallest size for most other comforters is a large Queen, far too large for our classic-sized bed and duvet.

"Lightweight" Queen Comforter feels like

This quality comforter is warmer than the average brand, so "Lightweight" fits our needs well--and thanks to a tip from Customer Service (skip to bottom), we now know how the physics of down makes it easy to adjust the bed setup to get the most or least warmth from the same comforter. Detailed user description below: Your mileage may vary, but if your setup is like ours, this weight might work for you: --Invested in this FF "Lightweight" comforter when the cover of the 30-year-old down comforter from Marshalls began disintegrating. I was really tempted to get the "Medium" weight, but I'm glad I got the "Lightweight" instead. The name belies how warm it really is. --We live in Connecticut & use a comforter 6 months of the year (Nov. - April). --We enclose it in a flannel duvet cover (Garnet Hill fits & ties to the corner loops) --We lower the heat to 63 at night during the fall & winter. --We use flannel sheets during the coldest months, but percale in early fall and spring. --We are two people sleeping in a Queen bed, so that affects heat. --We're both comfy, even though I wear a thin sleeveless nightgown, & my husband wears long-sleeved flannel pajamas. --In my early 50s, I'm glad I didn't get the "Medium" because I think anyone in peri-menopause or menopause would be too hot under anything thicker than the "Lightweight." --We have a light bedspread that we use on top. --The best thing I can say about the feel and the sound is that I don't really notice either. The comforter is lofty and light enough where it isn't pinning you down. You aren't going to feel like turning over is like trying to steer an ocean liner. And any fabric will rustle if you agitate it enough. But it's in a duvet cover, so I don't notice sound. --GREAT TIP I GOT FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE: A down comforter actually will be LESS warm if you put something on TOP (like a blanket, quilt, or bedspread) because it compresses the loftiness of the down and creates less space for warm pockets of air to exist. Whereas a down comforter will be WARMER if you put a blanket or quilt UNDER it so as to allow the down freedom to be lofty with more spaces trap warm air between the feathers. I tested this, and it's true. --The weather has fluctuated this November, so we tried both layering methods described above. The only time we could tolerate the warmth of using a bedspread quilt below the comforter was when the temps dipped into the 30s, and even then it was quite warm. I felt cooked when the nights were warmer. So I think we will be fine like that on the coldest nights. But most of the time we're going to just put our quilt on top like we have for decades. But it's great to know that the physics of a down comforter gives you flexibility!

Temperature Ratings of Summer, Light, and Warm Quilts

These quilts are very warm but very light and make you feel like you're sleeping under a fluffy cloud. Here are the temps that I tried them in: Summer: 67F or warmer room temp, PJ tank top/undies, can add warmer PJs at lower temp, kick off if room is hotter Light: 60F room temp with warmer PJs or 65F with lighter PJs Medium: 55F-60F room temp with warmer PJs on at the lower temps, 60F with tank top, long sleeved dry fit, and optional light leggings To avoid buying different weights, the ideal weight may be "Light" and use your PJs to add or lessen temp and if you get really cold, put a blanket on top of the duvet for the coldest winter nights. We do the Scandanavian Sleep Method so we all use our own Twin sized duvets. We have been switching these around and ideally, I like summer for summer and the Medium for the coldest winter nights. But if my room temp gets to 65F, the warm is way too warm. So that's why "Light" seems to be the most versatile weight. You'll probably be too warm though if your room goes above 65F or so.
