This new R1 Ultralight Hoody from Patagonia is the lightest weight hoody baselayer in the R1 family, and provides superior temperature regulation and ease of layering with a lofty, breathable next-to-skin weave combined with a smooth outer face fabric.  An extremely deep front zipper adds maximum temperature regulation and allows you to easily pull this layer off and on, even while wearing a climbing helmet.  The under helmet hood and high front collar add essential extra warmth as massive heat loss can occur in the head and neck areas.  Other features include two vertical zippered chest pockets, low-profile cuffs that easily push up over your forearms, a unique single-panel sleeve construction that increases comfort while wearing packs by keeping seams off of your shoulders, and a cleanly finished long hem that can stay tucked under a climbing harness.
