The Photon Pants from Rab are synthetic insulated puffy pants with full length separating side-zippers that make these pants extremely easy to take off and on while wearing things like boots and mountaineering crampons. Perfect for winter expeditions, bitter cold bivys, and colder weather mountain adventures of all sorts. Popular for wearing around camp while snow camping in cold and moist or highly variable changing weather conditions. A great piece of extreme weather survival gear to have with you when the shit hits the fan.

Photon pants in the Mesa
Great. Good fit. Warm. Skied in them 2x so far. Wearing them at night on the Mesa above Bishop, CA where temps are in the 20s at night.
Jury is still out………
Heading to Nepal in the middle of March with these and one of your jackets, I’ll let you know. The quality, fit and warmth seem pretty good thus far but the proof is in the pudding! To be continued………..
RAB Photon Pants
So far I like the pants I wanted something to cover comfortable clothes to keep me warm in cold weather but be easy to get off and on so I wanted the full zipper on side making the pants maneuverable over warm boots , ski boots and the like. The pants are warm wind proof and would be good for many winter sporting activities. The only negative is I get some stuck zipper incidents. This I find is a common problem with softer nylon type fabrics
