These shoes do not really live to their advertised size. I ordered size 50, and it felt like size 49 at best. Short and very narrow in the toebox. Despite, being a “light” model, they are actually very rigid. Given their wrong sizing I didn’t spend much time trying them, but from the few steps I took in my apartment they felt almost as rigid as full-shank boots, despite being ¾ shank ones. But then, what’s the point? You can just buy full-shank boots, and use more practical fully automatic crampons, which you cannot use with these boots. At least these felt well built, contrary to their more subtle counterparts, the Manta Tech, which I also tried, and which just screamed of cheapness.

I searched high and low for boots my size
... only to find them blocks away right here in Seattle. Thank you Feathered Friends for having plus size mountaineering boots on hand when literally everyone else was totally sold out. And the boots? I love them. Only used them twice, and they have been comfortable, warm and light!

Size selection
Great boot, minimal break-in required. Most of all thanks to Feathered Friends for stocking extra large sizes. Without them I would not have been able to get a boot in my size, not even directly from the manufacturer.
