We at Feathered Friends want you to get the fullest enjoyment and use out of your products. Plans change, items fit differently than expected, and life happens. If you need to make a return or exchange, you may do so by clicking the "Start a Return" button below. Note the excluded products listed at the bottom of this page.
Returns need to be initiated within 30 days of receiving your order. You will need your order number and the email used for that purchase. Items need to be returned in new condition with all tags.
Return by Mail
You may return your orders to us with any shipping provider. You can do so by following these quick steps:
- Enter your order number and email address in our return portal here
- Follow the prompts to generate your Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
- Repackage your order, ideally in the box it came in. Be sure to include your RMA number both on the shipping label and within the box.
- Ship it to us. We highly recommend using a shipping service that includes tracking information.
- We will process your return when we receive it. It may take 2 to 10 business days for a refund to post to your account.
Return with a Pre-Paid Label
Customers in the continental United States can choose a pre-paid UPS shipping label for their return. You may select this option when initiating your return here
Please note: A flat rate will be deducted from your return depending on the size of the item.
Returns with large items (sleeping bags, down comforters, down pillows): $14.95 will be deducted
Returns with any other items: $8.95 will be deducted
Return to our Seattle Store
All eligible orders made online or in-store can be returned to our Seattle store.
Bring your item with its original product packaging and tags (if applicable), along with proof of purchase, to our Seattle store and our staff will be happy to assist.
If you would like to make an exchange, we recommend that you initiate your return first (see the Returns section above), and then place a new order online or over the phone. This is the quickest way for you to get your new goodies, and it ensures that the product you want is available.

Some items may be ineligible for return. These may include:
Some exclusions may apply to closeouts items, which will be noted in the product description
All technical climbing gear (including ropes, harnesses, helmets, carabiners, & slings, etc.) cannot be returned.
Custom sleeping bags, custom bedding, and custom garments are not eligible for return or exchange.
Additionally, purchases made in our Seattle store without an email address cannot be returned online and will need to be returned or exchanged in-store.
