Why visit in person

There's no online store like actually being there.

Check out our full line of products in-person and feel the difference for yourself. Here's what you can do here that you can't do online.

Try the bag before you buy.

Climb in. Zip up. Compare our sleeping bags side by side. Find out whether the Hummingbird's narrow cut actually works for your shoulders, or whether the Swallow's standard mummy is the right move.

Real expertise, not just retail.

Our staff are people who climb the Cascades on weekends, thru-hike the PCT in summers, bikepacking the San Juans, and ski-tour around Chair Peak in winter. Bring your trip plan. They'll match you to the right bag, jacket, or layering system.

See the entire Feathered Friends line.

Check out our array of three season sleeping bags, down apparel, comforters, pillows, every organic cotton sheet. Rare bags like the -60°F Snowy Owl and the -40°F Snow Goose live here, physically on the rack, for you to touch.

Specialty brands you won't find online.

Many of our partner brands restrict online sales of their premium products to specialty retailers. The Arc'teryx alpine line, Hilleberg tents, hard-to-find 8000m boots, all here for hands-on comparison.

Rentals for one-off trips.

Climbing Mount Rainier this summer? Heading to Denali next month? Snowshoeing to Artist point in the winter? Rent the gear you need for your next adventure. See rentals →

Last minute gear.

Heading out on a weekend climb or an overnighter in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness and need that last-second gear? We've got you covered with climbing hardwear, apparel, footwear, tents, and more.

Common questions

Visiting frequently asked.

Nope! The Seattle South Lake Union store is our one and only retail location. We've intentionally kept it that way for 50+ years.

Yes. Most of our sleeping bags can be made to order with custom length, zip side, and overfill. The store is the easiest place to discuss options because you can see and feel the materials in person before ordering. Custom orders typically take 4–6 weeks to build.

No appointment needed! Drop on by anytime we're open. If you want focused time with a staff member for a trip consultation or to verify product availability, feel free to call ahead at (206) 292-2210 .

Yes! Bring your order confirmation, original packaging, and the unused product within 30 days of delivery. In-store returns process the same day. Returns are still subject to our return policy. See Return Policy →

We absolutely ship internationally. International orders are processed by our online team and ship from the same Seattle facility as US orders. Some products cannot ship to certain countries. See shipping details →

That's generally a yes. We've repaired bags that are years or decades old. Drop the bag off at the store and we'll evaluate it on the spot. A repair often costs a fraction of a new bag and helps keep more products out of landfills.

Yes! We have events on occasion at our Seattle Store. Follow our social media channels to stay in the loop on future events.
