Best choice ever!

I am really-really satisfied with my Hummingbird. The reason why I choose this sleeping bag that I am really cold when the temperature under 10 - my feet and waist are always freezing - BUT I wanted to get a lightweight sleeping pad. After an all-encompassing research the best solution for me was the Feathered and Friends gears. I tried the Hummingbird at the last week in Danmark and it was awesome. One of my best choice ever!

Perfect for backpacking

I first used this on a 3-day backpacking trip in the Adirondacks. The sleeping bag was incredibly light and kept me nice and toasty. Looking forward to using it again!

So lightweight and SO warm

I've been toasty using this bag, and it's dramatically more lightweight than my other feathered friends bag. They had to compromise with a lighter weight fabric, which feels more vulnerable to rips. I will be babying this bag to keep that fabric from tearing. You really can't go wrong with FF bags they're top of the line with transparency into the source of down.

Best Bag!

I've owned this bag for about 2 years now and it's incredible. I use it mostly for motorcycle camping and backpacking. I use the size XS Sea to Summit eVent compression dry bag and it compresses down to a little larger than a softball in my pack and then fluffs up pretty quickly when I pull it out in my tent. Wearing just a pair of compressions style long johns I can sleep comfortably down to about 30 degrees and with an added sweater and a pair of socks down into the 20's. This is paired with an uninsulated inflatable sleeping pad. I do have another 0 degree rated bag if I am going camping in the snow but it is much larger when it's packed down. This bag is also great on warmer night to leave unzipped as more of a blanket and it's not too warm. My only real complaint is that I wish it had some sort of a collar flap around the opening to help keep out some of the draft around your neck on colder nights. No matter how long of a day you've had it really hard to crawl inside of this bag not smile as you zip it up around yourself!! :)

Cozy and almost perfect

I got this bag for some cold weather hiking on the PCT, and it worked very well. Temps got down in the low 30s, and I was cozy and warm in the bag, paired with a Thermarest X-therm pad. I agree with others who have called out the zipper design, which is excellent, and works very well without jamming. There’s an integrated stuffed roll all along the zipper that lies over it when closed so there’s no heat loss there. The bag is also very light and packs down quite small by stuffing it into the bottom of my backpack. I didn’t get a compression sack for it. I’m a little over 5’-7”, so I ordered the 6 ft model, since I worried the 5’-6” version would be too short. Unfortunately there’s a bit too much air space down around my feet, and oddly not quite enough around the middle where I need room for my arms. I’m also not crazy about the cinch cord around the face opening. I tried it with a small pillow inside, and also with no pillow inside, and I found it hard to get a good seal around my face without feeling choked, it tends to leave gaps on the sides, but these are quibbles really. It’s a great quality bag and it kept me warm and cozy at night. Sleeping in cold weather with a bag like this is no problem, it’s getting OUT of the bag in the morning that’s the problem! BRRR! Thanks, Feathered Friends.
