Nice bag

Very nice bag. This thing is incredibly lightweight and warm. I’m about 6 foot 200lbs. Usually wear a large or XL and the bags a little snug up by the shoulders for me. Set up a tent and slept out side to test it out. Temp only got down to 19 degrees (little disappointing for Alaska in January) but It was toasty warm inside.

Was warm at 18 degrees, no tent, has usual FF high quality

Field tested my Raven for the first time last night sleeping on a cot with my Thermarest air pad under me, no tent, in my backyard during the current Arctic freeze sweeping much of the nation. Temps in my area dropped to 18 degrees F with a windchill of 5 degrees F. Sleeping in woolen base layer clothes of a lightweight long-sleeve woolen shirt, leggings and thick socks I was comfortably warm all night and slept just fine. I actually started off with a short sleeve shirt over the long sleeve shirt but got hot and had to peal it off almost immediately. I am 5’7”, so I have the regular model which was plenty long enough for me. I toss and turn sleeping so I like the extra shoulder room the Raven offers. The bag is soft and fluffy and very comfortable. The zipper works smoothly and the way FF designed the bag to overlap the zipper prevented any cold air from seeping in along the length of the zipper. I have had another FF bag for several years and the zipper has never snagged on it either.

Raven Sleeping bag.

Have not used the product (down booties) yet. Will rate it when I do. Love my recently purchased Raven sleeping bag though. It has exceeded my expectations. One method i’ve used for sleeping bags when it’s cold is to bring my electric vest and turn it on right before I get in the bag. I only have it on for 5 to ten minutes and then turn it off. The vest uses the same power source as my phone and other rechargeables and it much more convenient than warm nalgene bottles etc.

Just Replaced Western Mountaineering

Just spent five nights in Central Idaho using this bag. Temps were getting down to zero and I was impressed with how warm I stayed. I added on some layers in order to stay warm but I'm certain I would have been equally or more cold with my WM 5 degree bag. The zipper and weight savings are both upgrades from my WM bag. The only complaint is the FF fabric doesn't hold up well against hot stoves - lol.

Three Season Comfort

Oddly enough I hadn’t seen many reviews for this bag online. It met the exact specs for size and fill volume that I was looking for. So, based on the specs I bought the raven and couldn’t be happier. It is such a comfortable bag. The huge baffles fill up all the small spaces wrapping my body like a cloud. The side baffles do their job to hold in heat even when I toss and turn. After long and consecutive 20 mile days in the wilderness my body would ache with pain. I was happy to never have a poor nights sleep and I owe it to the raven. I’m 6’ 175lb and purchased the 6’-6”. Could have gone either way on the 6’ length bag to save some weight. It has a lot of volume for down jackets and extra clothing. I am a warm/hot active sleeper and the bag was downright hot in the 40s paired with an X-therm mattress. This was easily remedied by using it like a quilt. Another option for warm temps would be to use an non insulated pad. Once I found the 30 deg temps the bag found it’s sweet spot. Even in the 30s I still needed to dump a small amount of extra warmth out of the foot box zipper. It is so warm and comfortable it is amazing. I have yet to spend much time moving down around the baffles but the versatility of the bag is definitely there for warmer nights. I will be using this bag to zero degrees with confidence. The raven is replacing a WM Alpenlite 20 bag for similar sizing, more down, and virtual no weight penalty. Thanks FF! Great bag!
