We offer our 0 and -10 degree sleeping bags in two fabric options.

ES Series

The ES series has a 15 denier + 40 denier ripstop weave main shell featuring a Pertex Shield waterproof-breathable coating, coupled with a lightweight Electrospun panel across the torso and midsection to enhance air permeability and vent excess moisture.

Light Series

The Light series has an ultralight 7 denier + 30 denier ripstop weave shell fabric, with a 10 denier recycled nylon lining enhanced with a heat-reflecting titanium film.

The ES bags excel at weather protection and moisture management, while the Light bags are an excellent option for drier climates and trips where weight savings is at a premium.

One of our most popular winter bags year after year, the Snowbunting is better than ever with the latest from Pertex® and their highly breathable Pertex® Shield Air fabric. The Snowbunting has been the top choice for winter jaunts in the North Cascades, Nepal treks and those looking to stay warm on Mt. Rainier during any season. Lightweight, minimal pack size, but oh so warm.

Amazing piece of gear

This is my 5th FF sleeping bag in about 20 years and it just keeps getting better and better. I am hoping this bag too will keep me warm for years to come. I’ve just returned from three weeks in Nepal and it’s been toasty warm, breathes great and packs small. What else would you want? Highly recommended!

Sleeping bag for Pico de Orizaba

Bought this bag last minute for a trip to climb Pico de Orizaba and a couple of other volcanoes in Mexico. Weather forecasts changed and showed temps were getting colder. I was short on time and Feathered Friends rushed the order to make sure I got in time to take with me. So glad I purchased! Slept comfortably the whole time and never got cold!

Continued FF excellence

Have an older Ptarmigan sleeping bag over ten years old and still a wonderful product. The Snow Bunting ES is exceptional and I appreciate FF's product improvement as new materials become available. The regular length bag's fit and comfort are awesome for this 160 lb, 5'11" dude. Job well done Feathered Friends!

Great bag!

I got this bag just in time for backcountry camping in the Tetons. It kept me plenty warm in 20-30F temps during that trip. I’m 6’3 and 160lbs. I haven’t used it for colder weather yet, but I have no doubt it will perform beautifully. It’s a very breathable bag, so I didn’t get sweaty using it in warmer 30-40F. The bag is well made and has plenty of down fill. I can tell it’s going to stand the test of time and I’m happy to support Feathered Friends!

A lifeline in winter

A true 0 degree bag, which in my experience has been comfort in a base layer. I’ve taken it down to -10 or so with a parka on in a mid tent during Alaska spring ski overnights. Overkill in the best way for many nights in the cascades midwinter. The burlier face fabric is worth the marginal weight in winter for me. I’ve had plenty of panic moments when condensation on the tent turns to water as the sun hits it and mine has shaken it off every time. Packs down as well as any 0 can. My wife often borrows it in weather I prefer my 20 degree FF in. I’m 6’2” and about 190 and bought the long. It is perfect for shoving ski boot liners into the foot and has room to sleep with water, batteries, and the layers you’re praying dry overnight. I fit in the regular but it’d be tight with gear. I believe the ES is functionally the same as the standard snow bunting I bought in 2022. Photo is a morning that was around -10 showing frozen condensation around the draft collar. I slept cozy in a puffy, hat, and base layers.
