Recycle Your Down Products | Tersus CO₂ Cleaning

A pallet of old Feathered Friends down products being prepared to be sent to Tersus for down recycling

Even with the best care, whether it is through washing, proper storage, some much needed TLC, and occasional fluffing, there comes a time when a down product feels like it’s reached the end of its life. The loft might flatten, the shell may wear out, or it just doesn't perform the way it once did. But that doesn’t have to be the end. Down is one of the rare materials that can be regenerated, not just recycled, and still retain some of its exceptional warmth and lightness.

We encourage you to consider giving your down products a second life through our recycling partner Tersus Solutions, who uses a proprietary CO₂ cleaning process. This innovative method, certified by the IDFL (International Down and Feather Laboratory), revitalizes used down, significantly reducing environmental impact. Instead of discarding that old jacket or comforter, you can keep valuable resources in use and help build a more sustainable future for outdoor gear and cozy comforts alike.

To date, Tersus has recycled over 21,000 lbs of post-consumer down, which could make up to 100,000 new down jackets! And this is just the beginning.
