Shipping and Receiving Position

SUMMARY

Feathered Friends, a premiere down products manufacturer, is hiring a shipper to join the team at our Seattle factory. We are looking for a smart, detail-oriented, and dedicated person to perform a variety of shipping, receiving, and production assistance tasks. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare products for shipment by determining the most economical and efficient shipping method, and professionally package daily customer orders for both domestic and international customers.

  • Receive, organize and maintain completed stock items in a neat and orderly manner for daily order picking in a warehouse environment.

  • Organize raw materials to be queued for manufacturing.

  • Print tickets to facilitate production line manufacturing.

  • Queue raw materials for production line. 

  • Receive incoming materials via truck/container deliveries using light duty equipment (pallet jack).

  • Receive finished stock from production line at the end of the day; update inventory.  

  • Communicate with our Customer Service team and factory management via email, phone and internal messaging systems.

  • Follow established company policies, procedures, and objectives.

  • Miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS  

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and precisely.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of commercial shipping methods and procedures, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new procedures.

  • Proficiency using computer systems. Experience using Shopify and/or Odoo is a bonus but not required. 

  • Accuracy and accountability.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT 

Position is located in a factory that manufactures down products.  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for periods of time. 

HOURS

Monday – Friday, 9am to 6pm.  Some flexibility required occasionally.  May require seasonal overtime.

  • $22/hour to start
