The Bight: Spooky Stories

Pictured is a roaring campfire in a dark, starry, forested setting, announcing The Bight: Spooky Stories on 10/29 at 6:30 PM.

This morning, we stepped out in our Blundstones, gripped our reusable mugs, sniffed the dead leaves on the breeze, and thought to ourselves, “It’s time.” So, let’s properly kick off the fall with The Bight: Spooky Stories!

Join us on Tuesday, October 29th at Feathered Friends Seattle for a night of spo0o0oky adventure stories. Remember that time your cousin went camping and thought the tent was being ransacked by a wolf, only to realize it was a mouse sniffing his backpack? Yeah, he’ll be there telling that story. Or the time your friend went climbing and realized halfway up the route that she forgot toilet paper?! *shivers* Yep, she’ll be there too. It’s going to be a really fun night full of ridiculous outdoor stories that you won’t want to miss.

We’ll begin seating folks at 6:00 and presentations will start at 6:30. The evening will end with a raffle benefiting our partner organization for the event, Protect Our Winters. POW is an outdoor movement for climate impact, advocating for legislative action around climate change and safeguarding the snowy winters we wait all summer for.

Free Admission! RSVP HERE!

BONUS! Show up in costume and you’ll get a FREE raffle ticket. 🎟️

When: Tuesday, October 29th / 6:30 PM (Doors at 6)

Call for Presenters!

Do you have a spo0o0oky adventure story to share? Whether it’s an anecdote about that time you got a liiittle off trail, forgot toilet paper on your big wall climb, or were jumped by a bear in the middle of the night (yes, that's a real story), we want to hear your silly, eerie tale! This episode of The Bight is unique because it's not geared towards a single sport, so your spooky story could be about a climb you did, a thru hike you went on, an overnight car camping trip, or even a bike ride around the city.

We're looking for stories with a touch of spook that still encourage folks to get out in the wilderness and explore -- not to deter people from enjoying the outdoors. Any stories that we deem big "S" scary WILL NOT be considered, so use your best judgment to keep it lighthearted and fun!

If you're not sure whether or not your story falls in these parameters, just send us an email at events@featheredfriends.com. We're totally happy to help you make that call.

Presenters will have the option to share for 5, or 10 minutes. Submissions will close 10/22.
