Very Good
Was Stationed in Iceland for July/August and could not thrive without it even in 50!degree. Feel likes a Helium Balloon. Size is Unisex but Men’s. I will better know when I try the Small. Almost need the Parka, as soon as the warmer temps are here bye bye jacket. A little bug, but still good and warm.
AMAZING!
This jacket is the most amazing piece of survival gear I've owned. I used it for two guide trips on the West Buttress of Denali this year. I was never even remotely cold when I had this jacket on, despite being in stormy weather with temperatures of -30 and -40. Wow. It is also incredibly comfortable, and packs down very well for a jacket of this size and bulk. It is a true specialty jacket, and will feel like overkill for all but the coldest conditions, but should be considered absolute survival gear if entering into those environments, especially in a wilderness setting.
Great Parka for Denali
I purchased this for Denali and was very satisfied. Used it on summit day and around camp. Packs down reasonably well for its size and has enough of a shell on the outer layer for some snow and dripping inside the cook tent.
Great jacket!
For the money you can’t beat the materials, top quality down, top quality shell materials. Fit is spot on for my needs, I ordered a XL, I’m 6’2 180 lbs. with long arms, maybe more girth than I need but for my purpose to use as more of a belay jacket to go over a base layer and mid layer it’s perfect. Plus the XL gives me more arm length and room to move. Now the reason for 4 stars? Well I’ve read the reviews and agree with at leas one other review that the hood should be baffled not sewn through on this calibre of coat. Also I received my coat with faulty cinch locks on the hem, they easily let go of the grip, letting cold air through the bottom, not something you would want on an expedition. However I contacted Feathered Friends and instead of sending new cinch locks they sent me a cash reembursement, which me being in Canada was very economical for them, so good service. I have to question, though, how something like that slipped through quality control? Anyways I’m still impressed, if I were to make any design changes it would be as follows; baffled hood, and diagonal pockets moved more to the front than the sides. Make those changes I’ll buy another.
