Best. Backpack. Ever.
Overall the Mutant 52 is awesome, hands down the best pack I’ve owned - and I do own 2 other ospreys and quite a few other packs. This pack has everything you need, gear loops (all over the place), ice axe ties, snow shoe ties, helmet storage, hydration sleeve, etc. I am a tall person, 6‘4“ and the M/L fits me perfectly. The pack sits perfectly on my body and is so comfortable I almost forget that I am wearing it. So far I’ve done a snow scramble, rock scramble, and a ton of practice of self arresting and my feeling about the pack has not changed. The only thing I have noticed is the elastic attaching the ice axe clips has stretched out, not enough yet to do anything about it, but it has definitely stretched. Also for record here I do not store my pack with the ice axe attached. I would feel comfortable taking this bag on probably a two night trip, it may be tight but 100% comfortable. Overall a 4.5/5, if not for the elastic stretching it would be a 10/10.
Awesome
I love it. It's great.
