We created the Flicker to achieve maximum comfort and versatility without compromising on weight. Unzipped, it functions as a large quilt on warmer nights and is wide enough to cover two adults in a pinch. The footbox can be cinched tight and partially zipped for greater efficiency on cooler nights. At the bottom end of the temperature rating, the Flicker functions as a full center-zip mummy sleeping bag. With 900+ fill power down and ultralight a Pertex® YFuse shell, the Flicker series is ideally suited for those chilly summer nights in the alpine or on a thru-hike.
Available in 20 Degree, 30 Degree, and 40 Degree options.
YF: YFuse. Pertex® Quantum® 20 denier water-resistant/breathable fabric. Our YF line of sleeping bags feature a lightweight, 100% nylon Pertex® Quantum® shell that uses yarns with unique Y-shaped filaments to create a fabric with increased downproofing and water beading properties, even after years of use and washing.

I already own the Petrel 10 and love it during cold weather here in the PNW. However, I needed something lighter for summer and knew it had to also be Feathered Friends! This quilt is great. I got the 40 degree one and was comfortable at temperatures in the mid 50’s at night with no rain fly on the tent. I love that I was also able to unzip it and use it as an impromptu sun shade by draping it along one side of the tent and fastening the draft collar around a tent pole. I am 5’4 and slim. So the Regular size has plenty of room for me to hunker down against the wind if needed even with the bottom drawstring closed. I absolutely recommend Feathered Friends for any sleeping bag or quilt needs!

So lightweight! Nice and long for my tall body. Pull cord if I choose to be cozy around my feet. Zipper opens entirely to make it into a comforter…and on top of all that a beautiful color! It perfectly replaced the original Feather Friend I’d received as a gift and have loved ever since the early 1970’s - 50 years!!
