How much warmer should I go?
We generally suggest a bag rated about 10°F (roughly 6°C) below your expected low; cold sleepers may want about 20°F (roughly 11°C) of margin. Your pad, shelter, clothing, and personal comfort still matter.
How do I choose my length and width?
Most men's/unisex models offer Regular for sleepers up to 6′0″ (183 cm) and Long up to 6′6″ (198 cm). Women's Small fits up to 5′3″ (160 cm), and Medium up to 5′9″ (175 cm). Check your model's measurements and allow room for your sleeping position without compressing the down.
Does higher fill power mean a warmer bag?
Higher fill power describes greater loft per ounce. The amount of down and the bag's construction also affect warmth. We provide both the fill power and fill weight to give you more information beyond the temperature ratings.
Do I need an insulated sleeping pad?
Your bag and pad work together. The pad limits heat loss into the ground, so select an R-value appropriate for the expected conditions and how cold you sleep. A warmer bag does not replace inadequate insulation underneath you.
What kind of down do you use?

We use 950+ fill power goose down in our UL (ultralight) sleeping bags.

900+ fill power goose down is available in all of our winter & expedition sleeping bags as well as our YF series.

900+ fill power ultrasonic Muscovy down is also available in our YF series of three-season sleeping bags.

    Can two bags zip together?
Many of our left-zip and right-zip mummy bags can pair. Flickers pair with other compatible Flickers; models made before 2023 use a different zipper system. Ask us to confirm your two models before buying them as a pair.
How should I store my sleeping bag?
Make sure it is thoroughly dry, then store it loosely in a breathable storage sack. Save compression for travel. See our washing and care guide when it's time to clean it.
