The Wide version of our best-selling Flicker provides a bit more shoulder and body space when it’s zipped up, and is ideal for those who plan on using it as a two-person quilt. Unzipped, the Flicker acts as a large quilt on warmer nights that is wide enough to cover two adults. On cooler nights the footbox can be cinched tight and partially zipped for greater efficiency. At the bottom end of the temperature rating, the Flicker functions as a full center-zip mummy sleeping bag.

Better than expected
I was hesitant on a down bag as I often am in very wet and harsh environments, but I tried a few bags in store at the suggestion from an employee. I was satisfied with the feel and durability of the fabric and it was a tough decision between a quilt and bag. I then spent a week after purchasing this summiting a few peaks in the North Cascades during the first snow fall of the season, and then proceeded to use it on Adams and Ranier and in my SUV. I'm glad for my purchase, and feel that the warmth rating is accurate, and that it is warmer than rated. I've had no issue with draft in a bivy, without stuffing the foot box while cinched at a temp of 26 before 15-25mph windchill. I need to replace an arctic synthetic bag in the near future with something lighter and warmer, and I feel confident I'll be purchasing it from Feathered Friends. You guys know what you are doing, and your staff is very helpful and professional. Thank you!
Professional prompt service
My first bag was lost in transit from Seattle to me at Yass, New South Wales Australia. FF were great in initiating claim and a new bag was received within a week. From Seattle to Sydney, Australia in two days, Wow! Beautiful bag.
Spot on
Everything and more I expected in quality and performance.
Solid choice for UK/Irish weather
I bought the 20 degree quilt and used expensively in Northern Arizona in temps from 50-80 and really enjoyed the flexibility and light weight. I am going to purchase a higher quality slightly larger stuff and compression sack but other than that can't fault this. I intend to use this quilt in the UK/Ireland where I ordinarily live and even though it rarely drops below freezing I am glad I bought the 20* version.
Warm and cozy, works great with a sleeping pad in the bag
I just got back from the trail and I'm very happy with my Flicker YF Wide. It is soft, snugly, cozy and warm. It's very well made, and you can easily see the quality of the workmanship. I am 5'7, a size 14, and curvy with decent size hips and shoulders. The YF Wide is a good fit for me even with my pad in the bag. I do need to bend my legs to completely cover my head Mummy style, but I'm a side sleeper so that is not a problem for me. I bought the Flicker in a wide specifically so I could place my sleeping pad inside the Flicker when using it as a sleeping bag. This worked out perfectly. I have an Exped Synmat regular width, with an r-value of 5.2. I was comfortable down to 40°F with this configuration. (It never got colder so I can't speak to under 40°F.) Over 45°F, I switched to the quilt configuration using the same pad. For this I would zip up the bottom 1.5 feet of the Flicker, insert my pad in the foot area and use the flicker as a closed foot quilt. It was wide enough for me to tuck the sides under the pad so I did not have to utilize pad straps at all. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.
